The first step toward beating addiction is enrolling in a recovery plan and completing the admissions process.
Maverick makes that easy to do with our simplified admissions experience.
We’ll also help to validate your insurance so you can understand your out-of-pocket costs before starting. These services were designed to make it as easy as possible for new patients to start treatment. Here’s a closer look at what to expect.
Our Admissions Process
Making the decision to pursue addiction treatment isn’t easy. That’s why we’ve designed our admissions process to be as simple and streamlined as possible. It helps new patients begin their recovery journeys within a few short days of first contact.
This is what you should expect after reaching out.
1. Initial Phone Call
The first step is completing an initial phone call with one of our addiction specialists. We’ll ask some basic questions about your addiction and how it’s been impacting your life. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to ask any questions you may have about treatment, payment, and anything else.
The goal of your initial phone call is to figure out which kind of care you’ll receive from Maverick. It could be inpatient rehab, medical detox, or an alternative form of treatment, like an intensive outpatient program (IOP).
Don’t worry; you’ll have plenty of say over the kind of treatment you pursue. But your addiction specialist will also make a personalized recommendation based on their experience and the facts you provide.
2. Insurance Verification
During your initial call, we’ll ask for your insurance information. This gives us the details we need to call your provider and verify that you have coverage for the treatment you decided on.
We can generally complete insurance verifications within a few short hours of your initial call. After, we’ll reach out to you and describe your coverage. We’ll be able to tell you how much you’d pay out-of-pocket for the addiction treatment you need.
If you end up not having as much coverage as you expect, our team can help you explore alternative options for healing that could cost less. For example, transitioning from inpatient to outpatient rehab could make sense if you need to cut costs.
3. Travel Arrangements
Once we’ve verified your insurance, the next step is making travel arrangements to get you to our facility. That may be a simple process if you live in Texas. But we can also help you book flights or other travel arrangements if you live out of state.
4. Intake Meeting
The final step in our admissions process happens after you arrive at our facility. Your intake meeting is when you’ll meet your care team, tour our treatment center, and learn more about what to expect for the next several months.
Choosing a Care Plan
One of the most important parts of your admissions experience will be choosing a treatment plan. The decision you make will impact what the next several months of your life are like.
You can get help with finding the right plan for you by contacting our team. They can leverage their experience to help you make the best decision. But asking yourself the following questions can help you form your own opinion and preferences.
Where Are You in the Recovery Process?
First, consider where you are in your healing journey. If you’re just starting, you’ll need to begin with detox. This is when the body gets rid of the last traces of whatever substances you’ve been using.
Detox can bring intense cravings and potentially dangerous withdrawal symptoms. That’s why we recommend completing it at our medical facility, where you can have supervision and support.
You’ll have a choice to make after detoxing. You can either live at home and receive outpatient care, or you can move into our treatment center and participate in an inpatient program.
If you’ve already completed rehab, we also offer aftercare. This can help you transition your recovery to the real world and may involve time in sober living.
What’s Your Home Life Like?
If you’re deciding between inpatient and outpatient care, consider what your home life is like. Outpatient rehab allows you to go home at night and on the weekend. This makes it easier to give in to temptations and relapse.
That’s why we typically only recommend outpatient rehab to patients with stable, supportive living situations. If you aren’t sure whether that applies to you, we’re happy to help you decide. Just reach out, explain your concerns, and we’ll help you choose.
Do You Have Any Special Concerns?
Finally, consider whether any special concerns might impact your ideal treatment strategy. For example, do you have a partner you’d like to complete rehab with? Or, maybe you’re looking for a pet-friendly facility.
Our addiction specialists can help you find a treatment option that works for you, regardless of any limitations you may have. Just let us know during your initial phone call, and we’ll adjust your admissions process accordingly.
What To Expect During Treatment
Whether you choose inpatient or outpatient care, you’ll have access to the same forms of treatment either way. These include:
- 1-on-1 therapy sessions with doctors who specialize in beating addiction
- Group meetings that give you the chance to learn from and support people who are in similar situations
- Holistic healing activities, like meditation, yoga classes, and more
Studies show that patients get more value out of diverse treatment plans. That’s why Maverick folds group work and holistic healing into our core 1-on-1 recovery treatment.
